Visionaries from Frederick Law Olmsted to Aldo Leopold long ago espoused a simple, yet profound, relationship with the land: Rather than view natural resources as part of the human environment, we should instead view humans as part of the natural environment.
At JJR, we applaud their eloquent wisdom and embrace our role as stewards of the environment. It is a core value of our firm. Long before laws required it, JJR conducted environmental framework analyses and used ecological principles to guide our projects. We continue that role today, eagerly developing and incorporating new sustainable ideas and technologies as they become available. Through these efforts, we can reduce our carbon footprint and the ecological effects of our human activities.
With the knowledge of those early visionaries and the lessons we've learned along the way, we've built a legacy demonstrating how the natural and built environments can coexist—a delicate balance that requires insight, creativity, social responsibility and sound science.
